DealerBase Developers Portal
Welcome to the DealerBase Developers Portal which is in a constant state of updating.
api.dealerbase.co.nz provides programmatic access to your vehicle stock information
using simple, powerful, and secure application programming interfaces. To use this
document, you should have a basic familiarity with software development, web development,
Web services and basic SOAP access protocols.
Any functionality described in this guide is available if your organisation has
the API feature enabled. This feature is not enabled by default. If your organisation
is interested in having access please contact our Sales Team. If you cannot access the features you see in this guide,
contact Customer Service and Technical Support. All contact information can be found
here.
When to use I-Frame
This is the most simplest form of accessing your vehicle stock, however you have
very limited customisation of the look and feel. Your vehicle stock is accessed
quickly and easily, cutting down on your administration time. The link for this
service is created through the iFrame topic on this website.
Your listings are displayed in an iFrame that has NO AutoBase or DealerBase logos, colours or
advertising. See more.
SOAP Web Services API
Use SOAP API to retrieve vehicle stock and image information. You can add images, change
image order via api. API also allows you to perform searches and order the returned
stock by many attributes (make-model, CC, Odo etc). Third party web developer may call our API in any language
that supports Web service calls.
API will have many advantages over using iFrame option to access vehicle stock.
The look and feel can be fully controlled, the returned records can
be chunked into any number defined by you (10, 20 or 40 records per page). User
may have different ways of showing list of records either go with large image Galleries
or smaller image listings. The individual listings can be formatted to user’s liking
and create your own picture view for vehicle images.
More information on how to use SOAP Web Service API can be found
here. Sample set of coding on how to use using ASP.NET C# can be found
here.
